Q1. 你最喜歡聖經中的哪一卷書? 為什麼?
A:  It is difficult to choose one single book out of the 66 books in the bible. After all, they all have their own messages.  However, if I must pick out a single book, I would pick the book of Deuteronomy for the following reasons:
 
    1) It is one of the earliest written books. Early people do not have the chance to read books that are written later.  So, if God doesn't want his people to miss anything, it would be in one of the five books that Moses has written.
    2) From the surface, this book contains the laws.  A closer examination of the book reveals that in fact this book expresses God's heart to his people.
    3) In Christ's preaching and conversation (even during His temptation) He cited more passages in the book of Deuteronomy than other books. Again, this shows in some way, the importance of this book.
    4) (This is not officially known to me) but I heard that every pious Jews are required to memorize the whole book of Deuteronomy, something that very few of us are capable of doing today.
 
Q2. 聖經如何影響你每日的生活和生命中的決定? 你可以給我們一個例子嗎?
A:  The bible is my basis for living; it serves both as a guide and a motivation. A concrete example would be my interest in entertainment. The "things that people do" like "watching movies, dinning out, Shopping etc..." have no appeal to me. That is not to say that I think that i) These activities are wrong and ii) I don't participate in them.  I just allocate very low priority for such activities and I don't find much of an urge for them.
 
Q3. 身為靈修同工, 在查經與帶領小組查經的技巧上你可以給我們一些建議嗎?
A:  First, I think brothers and sisters should realize that the Bible is something more valuable than anything that they could have.  I think the motivation is very important.  Second, it is a good idea to build up a regular and disciplinary bible reading habit.  It is a good idea to make it a certain time of the day, preferably the first thing in the morning.  Sometimes even a good motivation fails to move us.  Responsibility and duty need to kick in at this stage.
              However, being able to read the bible on a regular basis doesn't necessarily implies that one would enjoy reading it.  There are bible passages that are less relevant to us at some stage in our life.  In this case, perhaps it is a good idea to find some other brother and sisters who are interested in the same topic and to discuss it.  Another way is to find relevant books that expand on the topic.  A third way is to give yourself a challenge by finding the relevance.  After all, we have not declared part of the bible to be obsolete, so there must be a relevant to us today. Try to find that out.
               Concerning improving bible leading skills, I find that there are some conditions that must be fulfilled. First, the leader should be very familiar with the passage itself. That is not to say that the leader understands fully the meaning of the passage but at least, the leader should be able to, at the time of leading, say in many words what the passage is about without looking at the passage itself.  In another word the leader should be able to "recite" the passage in his or her own word. Second, the leader should have certain tools at his or her disposal. These include dictionaries, books, commentaries etc... Finally, the leader needs to understand what each member says. Keeping these steps in mind, the next thing is to keep practicing and self evaluation for improvement.
 
Q4. 身為靈修同工, 對於每週需要花時間準備查經的預查, 你個人覺得如何?
A:  It is both enjoyable and beneficial.

谈谈科普文章和科学家小传                                                                                 

 

        去年道维搬家时，给我留了本闲书＜科学发展＞（九十一年二月，行政院国科会发行）．我很喜欢看，曾阅读多遍，并上网将两年来所有的过刊浏览一遍，花费了不少时间．长久以来，我对科普读物不很重视，原因很简单，找不到合适的读物，内容单调，缺乏创意和深度．既然我们已经读了很多枯燥的教材，同样枯燥的科普读物不要也罢！对此，网上有很多评论文章，在此不再细说．

        但这一杂志确有给人耳目一新之感．首先是作者多为大学教授，写作起点很高，其次题材新颖，每期一个主题，让有兴趣的人不忍放过．象这一期，有四篇文章分析九二一集集大地震，从台湾地震的历史，强度，预报和成因来分析地震之必然规律，很有深度，且图文并茂，深入浅出，确实起到了学术期刊所无法达到的科学普及作用．

        引起我更大兴趣的是台大教授张文亮的科学家小传，＜博古通今的科学家----楊格＞．大家从中学物理中知道杨氏弹性模量，所以楊格应当是一个物理学家．实际上，他是学医的．他创办的医院，以＂看病不给药＂为招牌，因为＂许多疾病的诊治，不在给药，而在矫正病人的生活习惯，病因可能来自病人的饮食不当，睡觉缺乏，或居家环境通风不良．这些问题，必须在医生与病人的对谈中才能发现．＂多么独到的见解，有些类似中医理论，但楊格却又更进一步地运用了他的物理学知识．通过分析牛眼睛的构造，楊格发表了散光原理，利用眼镜纠正视觉，因而楊格被选为英国皇家科学院院士，并被尊为＂视觉生理学之父＂．楊格还有一些足以令他名动千古的成绩，如创办伦敦大学，成立有用知识推广协会，破解古埃及文的奥秘和第一个保险学的精算师．最后，作为画龙点睛之笔，楊格晚年称自己不过是一个＂上帝恩典中的耕耘者＂，将荣耀归给上帝，是真正的谦虚和敬虔．

        从上期Journal玉如的书评中，我们知道张文亮的神学思想不止这一点，故文章可能经过了别人的加工和剪裁，然而有这一点，也足以显示神的荣耀了．当前的风气，似乎不允许有神学观点的文章出现在普及性的刊物上，但科学则是应当广泛流传的，故两方面结合较好的文章，更显作者的水平．众多的科学家传记，大多是聪明加机遇，更重要的世界观决定了一个人的见识和眼光，却不是传记文学所能写好的．从十九世纪的众多科学家传记中，经常可以发现上帝的影响，象法拉第一辈子在教会中服事，却一点也未影响他作出众多发现．他的关于蜡烛的化学史的系列演讲，更成为科普中的精品，千古绝唱．

        作为对比，以大陆留学生作者为主的＜三思科学＞，则显得有更多的限制，题材也很新颖，但广度和深度均有不足，一定数量的译文，也显示出创作队伍的不足．科学不能独立于人文而存在，过多的人为限制不利于思想的发展．在此仅作一点初评，有兴趣的弟兄姐妹可以从网站上直接下载阅读有关文章．

點心教室   中式甜米酒

 

材料：

1. 糯米2磅

2. 上海酒饼丸(Yeast Ball)一个．　（中国店有售）

 

步骤：

１，        把糯米煮成饭．水应比普通米煮饭少一点，否则饭太烂．

２，        把饭打散，自然冷却．

３，        把酒饼丸压碾成粉末状．

４，        备凉开水一碗．

５，        把酒饼丸粉末均匀拌入饭中．太粘可加入少许凉开水，分几次拌匀．

６，        把拌好的饭放入干净容器，　用手掌将饭表面压平，在中间掏一个直径３厘米左右的孔，盖上盖子．

７，        放在温暖处．（如有常明火头的灶上，效果非常好，一般一天半至两天即可．若在室温下，则需更长的时间，注意经常查看）．

８，        当米从透明变成白色，体积缩小，有透明液体渗出，并有酒香溢出时，即可食用．

９，        酒酿做好之后，立即移入冰箱储藏室，防止继续发酵，变酸变辣．

 

注意事项：

整个过程所有器物均需干净无油渍，否则发酵不正常．

 

吃法：

１，        冰镇后直接食用．若觉太甜，可加些冰水．

２，        酒酿打蛋：加水和少量糖，煮滚，打入一两个鸡蛋．

３，        酒酿汤圆：加水和少量糖，煮滚后下如糖圆或元宵．

４，        也可用来替代料酒炒菜，更是香味独特．

 

特点：

清甜滋润，酒香泗溢
